Achivements:Rikki started his swimming career at Nuneaton & Bedworth Swimming Club in 1995 when he was 5 years old. Two years later he swam in his first race winning his first medal, a bronze in the 7 years 50m freestyle. Since then Rikki has won the Junior Sports Personality of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough in 2002 at the age of 12 for his performances at the 2002 National champs which was also the year he broke the 12 years Midland District Record in the 200m Backstroke at the Midland Champs in a time of 2.31.20. In 2005 he broke the Midland Junior Record on 200m Butterfly in a time of 2.11.51 before joining City of Coventry Swimming Club in 2006. 2008 was the start of Rikkis major swimming achievements when swimming at the Olympic trials he swam in the 200m Backstroke and qualified for the Engalnd Team for the Commonwealth Youth Games in India where he finished 5th in the 200m backstroke and 7th in the 100m backstroke, his 200m backstroke times being his first new Club Records. He also won the silver medal in the 200m backstroke at the National Champs in a new Club record of 2.05.67 and won the Gold medal in the 800m Freestyle in 8.25.33. At the end of 2008 Rikki won a silver at the British School Champs in Manchester in the 100m backstroke which qualified him for the England Team in the 2009 WIISE International, winning a silver in the 200m Backstroke and a Gold in the 4x100 medley relay. In 2009 Rikki lowered the Clubs 200m Backstroke record again. He also swam at the British Gas Grande Pix, where he broke the Warwickshire 200m butterfly record in a time of 2.01.96, he also broke the 2 minute barrier for the first time on 200m Backstroke in a time of 1.58.54 which again lowered the club record. In 2012 he qualified for the Olympic Trials in the 200m Backstroke, where he swam in the New Olympic Pool and in 2013 has qualified for his 12th consecutive National Championships.
Other:Rikki is a qualified ASA Level 2 Teacher and Level 2 Coach and he has just been accepted onto the Level 3 Coaching Course. Rikki has also attended a Safeguarding Children Course and is CRB Registered.

Our first opurtunity to see how we performed as a team we had no good swims only great ones. With 24 1st 12 2nd 7 3rd places and 2 DQs we won with 243 points 24 points ahead of Rugby and 41 points ahead of Solihull . Thanks to Mel Mcwhirter for team managing no mean task on your own. Well done!
