Young Volunteers
City of Coventry Swimming Club has a proud history of developing the next generation of volunteers, officials,
Teachers and Coaches and are always looking for new people to join our team. young Volunteers can help out
with the swimming lessons at Coventry Swim School and the coaching sessions with the Club. All young helpers
will be mentored and under the guidance of the qualified staff and will be a great starting point for their
teaching/coaching journeys.

Once turn 16 years age then the formal qualifications can be undertaken for Assistant Teaching, Assistant Coaching & Teaching and 18 years age for Coaching qualifications. Details of courses that are available can be seen at www.swimming.org/ios
Funding is available from the West Midlands Region. They will fund 25% of Assistant Teaching qualifications and 50% for Assistant Coach, Coach and Senior Coach Qualifications. The Club will (subject to funds being available and approval of application) fund a further 25% of all qualifications within the Teaching and Coaching framework. For your club funding to be successful the applicant will have to show a proven track record of attending and contributing to the Young Volunteer Programme and/or attendance/contribution of lessons/sessions if over 18 years age. The Club also have a Team of volunteers that help with the electronic timing system and processing of results at competitions. We are looking to expand this Team to have more volunteers to share the work loads. Information of what is involved can be seen HERE
